As practionners of Chinese Medicine, we take a look at the person on the physical and emotional level. And we also consider their relationships and social context. Very much in accord with the WHO definition of Health:
"Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity."
If we want to help people to be healthy in this broad sense, we cannot count only on the Classis of Chinese literature. They were written about 2000 years ago for people living in a different culture.
And there is another aspect
As TCM therapists and passionate readers we do not only bring specialist knowledge to our patients. We also count on our life experience and interessets. This is why we feel free to discuss literature in a broader sense, talking about books that have formed us as humans.
